He has painted on some of the world’s biggest stages. In 2024, David Garibaldi celebrated another milestone: earning his high school diploma.
This month, we’re celebrating Highlands alumnus David Garibaldi, a performance painter whose work brings art, music, and movement together. Born in Los Angeles in 1982 and raised in Sacramento, David developed an early love of creativity through graffiti, music, animation, and dance.
He transformed those interests into a career creating large-scale portraits in minutes. His live show, Rhythm and Hue, turns the painting process into a performance, inviting audiences to watch an image emerge through color, rhythm, and motion.
In 2012, David and his team finished fourth on Season 7 of America’s Got Talent. His career has included performances at the White House and tours with KISS and Andrea Bocelli. Through live painting and auctions, his artwork has helped raise more than $10 million for charitable causes.
Class of 2024. A new chapter at 41.
After building an international career, David returned to finish his education. He earned his high school diploma at age 41—a reminder that personal growth does not have a deadline.
We’re proud to count David among our Highlands alumni. His journey celebrates creativity, persistence, and the power of continuing to learn, wherever life takes you.
