This Privacy Policy describes information handled through Highlands Alumni Connection, the alumni website of Highlands Community Charter & Technical Schools (“Highlands”). It applies to this website and its alumni forms.
Information you provide
The contact update form asks for your name and email and allows you to provide your phone number, graduation year, city, current employer or school, career interests, volunteer interests, and notes. The story form collects your name, email, story, and permission to contact you; graduation year, current activities, interests, and a photo are optional.
Provide only information you are comfortable sharing for alumni outreach. Do not include passwords, Social Security numbers, financial account details, medical information, or confidential student records. Only upload a photo you have permission to share.
How information is used
Submitted information is used to maintain alumni contact information, respond to requests, follow up on stories, and coordinate alumni news, events, mentoring, speaking, and career opportunities. Website technical information may also be processed to deliver pages, prevent spam, and investigate service problems.
Hosting, forms, and service providers
This website is configured to use Netlify for hosting and form processing. Submissions, including optional uploaded photos, are processed through that service and may be reviewed by Highlands staff responsible for alumni activities. Hosting providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request times, and pages requested.

Stories and photos
Submitting a story does not automatically publish it. Highlands may review your submission and contact you about a possible feature. A submission by itself is not a blanket release for public use of your image or story; any necessary publication permission should be addressed separately. Material published with permission can be viewed, saved, and shared by others.
Cookies and external websites
The website’s own code does not include advertising trackers or use browser storage to build visitor profiles. Hosting infrastructure may process information needed for delivery and security. Links to magazines, social networks, event services, and other websites lead to services with their own policies. This policy does not govern those services.
Retention and security
Retention depends on the purpose of the submission and applicable school records requirements. Contact Highlands to ask about a particular submission or request deletion. Deletion may be limited by required recordkeeping or other legal obligations. No online transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and requests
You may browse without completing an alumni form, omit optional fields, and contact Highlands to request a correction, ask about information you submitted, request deletion where available, or ask to stop alumni outreach. Highlands may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Do not send sensitive documents solely to make a privacy inquiry.
Audience and school records
This website is intended for alumni and the Highlands community. Its forms are not intended to collect information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information can contact Highlands for assistance. These alumni forms are not a student-records portal and do not replace the school’s procedures for accessing education records.
